[ But, oh, how she has missed that voice. Enough that it cracks in the quiet of her study, she snatches up her crystal from her desk. A faint jangle as the chain tumbles from her fingers, cradling it in her palm. ]

Saawariya, it is good to hear you.

( A smile, because she cannot begin to say how great the relief is to hear Manikarnika, to know she is still in Thedas, had not left as rifters had been known to. She remains, and Magni is not too late.

Of course, the crystals are not the easiest means of communication for her. It demands she speak, and she clears her throat, faintly sheepish. )

And you. I was— I worried you might not reply.

[ It's a chuckle, light and giving. She knows her plight but it stands to reason that for one who tried as hard as she did, of course, there would be no easy escape as suddenly as that. ]

What news Saawariya? How fairs your home?

( Though she does not voice a reply, is quiet for a few moments, perhaps Lakshmi knows her well enough to know the little smile at the corners of her mouth. )

Well. Strong. I spoke with the Thane, and he may allow another to return to Kirkwall with me. And you?

Another - ?

[ Half curious, the cock her head to the words, wondering briefly, what that might mean. ]

- Well enough. The days are cold, short. [ I miss you, heat and laughter and all. ] My healing goes without problems.

( said with utter seriousness. More sincerely: ) I’m relieved.

But then Magni is quiet a few moments, thinking and letting herself settle into the silence before she wrangles her words. )

Manikarnika, I— ( Ugh, talking. ) I made my decision.

[ For what it matters, for once, she isn't sure what to say there. Only that her thumbs dig in sharply to the edge of the crystal, takes a moment. ]

I will respect it, no matter what it might be.

[ Because if Magni has any sense, it is her she will end this, leave this be. ]

[villieldr]

I want— whatever trials the world sets before us to be ones we face together.

( quietly said, though she is aware that speaking in blunt, obvious terms may be beneficial: )

Then I am yours.

[ She doesn't know, if she is releaved or not. She doesn't know if this is good or not. She has not worked out, what it might mean, on the day when she will inevitably lose Magni, to time and all that comes in between those seconds.

But for a moment, there is a delirious sensation, thick in her head. Warm as a blanket, thick as the sky. Fills up and for a moment - all she wants is to be selfish and want something to make the seconds worth counting for once. ]

( Quiet, pleased. Not that she had worried overly, but it is still a weight lifted from her. Magni has to take a few moments to decide what to say, when honestly she’d like to just lapse into a content silence.

These crystals were absurd. )

[ The lapse in silence was telling enough. She laughs, sudden and bright, lighter than she has in weeks. ]

And I, you. Go, you know you do not like speaking at length when you have nothing to say.

( Unseen though it is, her smile is very bright. )

Much to say, but not... skill to say it. ( She’s no poet, and words seem inadequate to articulate her relief and joy in this moment. But Lakshmi is right, she’s not overly fond of the crystals. )

I’ll have to be satisfied with thinking of you.

[ And maybe, maybe because there is a comfort to here, to know Magni and her being at an easy place with one another that she ventures - ]

[ Magni no doubt, knows the look, the raised brow and that little bit of daring in how she'd roll her shoulders back in invitation. ]

Oh, well.

Magni is surprised quiet for a few moments, looks around to ensure they have privacy, and brings the crystal closer to her. Protecting it, the words Lakshmi speaks to her. Even so, a slightly mischievous smile plays about her lips. )

It is a very comfortable bed. Very restful.

Restful? [ She hisses it, laughing. Oh is that so? ]

Well, I will happily let you sleep on it. So you can get all the rest you require.

( She enjoys the sound of her laughter, and smiles happily to herself, relaxing a little more. )

And good for you, as well. The elderly need to rest.

Elderly!

[ She's laughing again, at least no one is about to hear it. She'd never live down sounding so happy, but it's - something at least, to be so without reason to stop. ]

We'll see about elderly. [ you're going to go through hell when she gets you to herself again, Magni. ]

[ It is a good thing Magni is not here, because there is no helping the pleased flush that works up her face, that - like a flighty in love woman, she has to cover her smile like she was the age she appeared then the age she was.

( A brief note of laughter, and Magni’s smile can be heard in her words. )
